Thoreau, New Mexico, clean water being delivered by St. Bonaventure Indian Mission for a Navajo family. A third of the Navajo Nation lack a water supply in some places because past uranium mining has contaminated ground water. Relying on delivered water, these families use an average of 7-10 gallons a day, compared to 400 gallons for the typical American family of four. - Jim West - 2016-10-11
