Writer Caryl Churchill with Brendan Gallagher 1978 London press conference in protest at cuts to the BBC Play for Today 'The Legion Hall Bombing'' about the trial and conviction purely on a contested confession of 16-year-old Willie Gallagher for the bombing in 1976 of the British Legion hall in Strabane, Northern Ireland. Churchill turned transcripts of the trial into the script of the play. Brendan Gallagher is Willie's father.
