Tucson, Arizona - Members of the Tucson Samaritans place crosses in the desert at the places where the remains of migrants were found. Hundreds of migrants from Mexico and Central America have perished in recent years as they tried to evade U.S. Border Patrol checkpoints. More than 500 crosses planted in Arizona by the Samaritans and other groups now mark the spots where they died. Water was placed in the tree in the background for others in need. - Jim West - 2017-04-18
