Supporters of the Save our Collection campaign protest... - Paul Carter, JP0909001.jpg

Supporters of the Save our Collection campaign protest outside the civic offices in Southampton to protest against the Conservative Party run council selling off a painting by Munnings and possibly two sculptures by Rodin to help finance a 5 contribution to a p, mainly dedicated to displaying the Titanic story. This is the first time in the country that a local authority has tested the new tougher guidelines laid out by the MLA (Museums Libraries and Archives Council) on the sale of publicly owned works of art. They also handed in a petition signed by around 2500 people opposing the proposals - Paul Carter - 2009-09-16
