Concordia, Kansas, USA Statues of National Orphan Train movement adopted children, National Orphan Train Complex Museum and Research Center. Between 1854 and 1929, about 250,000 children were relocated from New York City to rural parts of the United States. Most were poor and/or immigrant children. Not all were actually orphans.
