Batavia, Illinois - The Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), where scientists conduct basic research into the the smallest elements of matter. In the underground MINOS cavern, an intense beam of neutrinos travels 450 miles through the earth to the Soudan mine in northern Minnesota. Scientists compare the results from neutrino detectors in both locations. Engineering physicist Bill Lee exanubes a new neutrino detector for the NOvA experiment.
